Halloween 2013

We made it through another costume season, this year Brady choose to be a Lions football player and Brooke was Thing One from Dr. Seuss. We were able to get a bit of early trick or treating in at Aunt Suzanne's retirement community (best weather you could ask for - inside!)
Roxy even joined the festivities, who could resist right?
Kids scooped and carved their pumpkins this year...
enjoyed playing with the goo......
Brady's finished product....eyebrows and all....

Brooke tried to engineer a minon pumpkin.
Brooke and mom's favorite part! SALT.
This was Roxy entering in a costume contest at her Vet, she made it home with a new bone, toy, leash and dish.....so I guess it was worth the trip!
Classroom parties, apparently football player was a popular choice this year!
Two lions players, both named Brady, in the same class, who would have guessed.
Mom taking a snack break in Brooke's class.
Brooke and her teacher Mrs. Bedi....all the teachers were Despicable Me Minons.
Roxy all ready for Trick or treating, but no luck she stayed home, maybe next year.
Just a boy, the game and a hot dog......
Photo shoot before the candy craze begins....
A fellow teammate.
Brooke found her counterpart too....

The gang busting at the seams!
If we were lucky we got a piece of pizza in each one of them and then unleashed the hounds....
Still hanging tough, although all were complaining that their pillowcases were getting too heavy to carry.
Assessing the loot.....
Sorting, comparing, trading......
Despite a constant mist and mild tempuratures.....we survived another midwest Halloween.

Fall Soccer

Both kids continued on with Soccer this fall. They each got to pick one sport and we always seem to land back to soccer. I tried to get Brady talked into flag football, but Brady and the unknown don't seem to coincide too often, so he stuck to what he knows and it paid off for him this season. Brady is rounding the corner and actually taking quite an interest in sports lately. Watching the tigers, lions, asking many more questions including when Chris leaves for hockey on  Monday "Mom is Dad trying to get on the red wings team next right?" (bless his heart, I am sure he would try if he could)

I present to you the Green Rangers.....
I also learned that I want the mom's camera that took all these pictures, I can't claim I captured any of them.....

Celebrating with a teammate.
Big kicks.
He shoots .......He scores!
We also saw a bit of a competitive edge come out in our little bugs this season, view the elbow below....oh and the ejection (yup that's right) from a YMCA game due to un-sportsmanship like conduct - it wasn't a great moment, but lets just say a lesson was learned and it didn't occur again! He definitely likes the "W" outcome but has learned it isn't always gonna happen.

All and all it was a good season, it was the most hustle and effort I have seen from this guy to date, and in the end that is all we ask for.
Brooke continues to play on her Rapids team, and enjoys this team of goofy little girls, her competitive spirit is much more controlled and usually comes off the field smiles no matter win or lose. This was a shot from their Lansing tourney.
Mostly because there is always the "snack" waiting for her.
Accepting her award from coach.

She still seems to end up in the net, not liking it as much this year, but steps up when no one else will volunteer to play in there.
Getting schooled at half time.
 GO RAPIDS.

and with that we move to the next season, where Brooke is taking a season off before indoor starts and Brady will try his hand at basketball (should be entertaining if anything else)
