Lurking......

It is defined as someone who is to be concealed, but capable of being discovered.
I am not sure where Brady has learned of this new verb....was it the word of the day on Sesame Street?? At any rate he has apparently mastered it's meaning beyond belief. It's sneaky, its creepy, it's secretly cute sometimes, it's scary and it is mind boggling how quiet a 3 year old can be for an extended period of time to emphasis the element of surprise....we aren't talking seconds here ...... we are talking 20 minutes or who knows how long before we notice him. It started out innocently enough when he moved to his big boy bed and realized he could get out in the morning come in our room stand about a centimeter from my closed snoozing eyeball and breath heavily. Then it was a hand interlaced with my fingers as he would stare at me sleeping. It isn't constant and routine, it sort of happens randomly, which is why I entertained the thought of sleepwalking, but upon discovery most times he just turns to me and usually says "Hi....Mommy" like you finally found me.......so he is fully awake and aware....There have been a few heart stopping moments when I lean back the lazy boy to give out my final sigh before falling asleep to some DVR program only to view Brady backed up against the bookcase smiling, or my ultimate favorite when I was doing a late night baby sitting swap with my neighbors and Chris usually relieves me at 10 pm before I turn to dust, well when I came back to our house and walked towards the stairs I caught a glimpse of a human to my left, I was in complete panic mode until my eyes focused in on what I was looking at, yup it was one Brady Munson curled up in his cubby locker like Chucky ready to attack, except it was without any evil intent it was just "Mommy, my eyes can't fall asleep"......but for the love of anxiety medication......Bugs I love you, and as much as I appreciate no yelling or screaming to come get you in the morning or at night for any known reason Please understand the importance of announcing your presence.......for the sanity and heart health of your Mutha......

Here is an example of what we are dealing with.....you can just make out his eye behind the fridge door.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Must of been too hot to sleep....oye vey.....

The need for speed!

We were able to escape for a few days at a family friend's lake house last week and it came with all the water toy fixings.......We got to water ski, ride the wave runners, eat dinner and cruise the lake on their pontoon boat, and roast some smores at night....it was great to get away and enjoy the few nice days were got blessed with this unseasonably cool summer!! Here are some pix of the getaway...

Like a kid in a candy shop - water toys galore!!
Kids and Grandma out by the water...

All I am saying is watch out.....This chick got on this wave runner and didn't want to get off. She had no fears and her only request was to GO FASTER!! We had the thing going full blast (around 50 mph) and she was screaming her head off "yeah baby yeah" I think literally gray hairs grew on my head while watching......
There she goes full throttle...
I had to join the fun and "monitor" the safety of these two nut jobs!
Now on the flip side (I know this will come as a surprise) Brady wasn't as willing.....we had to persuade him to wear full armor and be covered in buzz light year....to feel safe....as well as convince him this is what "Aqua Man" does to save people.........
But eventually he got on.....the last thing I heard as they were taking off was "get me off this thing"
Then I watched him literally go the speed of manually pushing it.......and as they were coming back in I heard "YEA HAW COWBOY" so from somewhere around 0-1 mph he had fun.....such different comfort zones my kids have.

Here I thought they were having a Father/Daughter meaning of life conversation out there....come to find out he was giving a lesson on who Darth Vader, Princess Leah & Yoda were....
Just the ladies grabbing some sun before we went out skiing....Off on a pontoon dinner boat cruise...
Nothing screams "Yacht Club" like take out pizza!Captain Brady reporting to duty!
Captain wave runner calling it quits from all the action!Hey guys look at me....
Goodbye Lake and toys back to reality!!

Super Brady !!

Well my little boyfriend has turned 3 and is loving life!!

He has really shaped his personality this past year. He is still a very quiet, reserved guy, but has developed this little comedic edge (usually only for show with immediate family members) that we are LOVING and put this one with the other class clown and you never know what you are going to get....... He has advanced immensely on his speech this past year and we really enjoy having actual conversations with him and alleviating some of his frustration, we still have some work but we are making progress and that makes me smile! This past year you have embarked on a lot of milestones, but are still this little cuddly wad of cuteness that I want to bottle up and not let you advance......but at the same time look forward to all the new things you will enjoy and learn in the next year (hopefully the toilet being numero uno!!) so as long as you continue to shower me with hugs and cuddles I guess I can let you grow up (a little)! So at 3 here were some highlights.....
You STILL love baseball (playing guys, Hitting it off the T, running the bases, going to Dad's games - the whole thing - it doesn't seem to get old with you!)
The love affair with the "white milk" was stronger than ever and I see no end in sight!

You love books, puzzles and the TV (sometimes a bit more than needed!)
You started to enjoy the wonderful world of sweets, still not over the top but venturing out a bit.

Your favorite item of clothing is your pajamas. Specifically, your superman jammies that must be worn at all moments of the day! Case in point Griffin sporting his Sunday best, Brady......jammies.

Just today I sneezed and you looked at me and said "Bless you" so manners are starting to embark.....

And lastly the SUPER HERO - something has resonated strongly - you have latched on hole heartily to keepin' the bad guy down......First it was Buzz Light year and Superman but it is now Green Lantern, Flash & Wonder twins.....You love the chase, the save, the rescue......I hope you can continue to ward off evil in the next year, but we might need to buy a bigger bed seeing how EACH and EVERY superhero guy must accompany you bedside each night.

We love you Bugs and wish you all the best in your fourth year......Here are some pix of his b-day and of course his SUPERHERO party......

Superman Cupcake cake...
Somehow I can hear "To the Rescue!!" when I look at this picture....
Super Brooke and Super Brady checking the scene to find civilians in trouble....
There were a lot of "super hero" poses being striked......

Hamming it up.....

Super heroes taking a break from fighting crime to do a craft (everyone has their outlets!)
Creating a silly string web to help Spidey out......
Brooke and Griffy coloring Buzz....

Seriously Buzz jammies on, Buzz in hand, Woody in hand, skipped my nap, all my grandparents watching me and only me (sister was off to another party) this is the best day EVER!!!
Enjoyed opening gifts a bit more this year!

Happy Birthday little man! We love you!!

It was a little under"cooked" for me....

So I will admit it I love American Idol, everything about it, and I am also not going to deny my love for a celebrity siting. So last week I had the opportunity to have both come into play in one night. I got a call.... "Be ready at 7 we are leaving to go meet David Cook" my only response was "you betcha!" Didn't ask why or where or how....just let's go......but then soon after I got another call "Um Sheryl Crow just called and wants David to come on stage with her so David won't meet us at the bar until an hour after we thought" Really?? Is this really happening.....so to say the least I was excited.....probably a bit too much for my age - I mean seriously it is embarrassing as I type this a 36 year old going on road trip to see some twenty some year old with a bunch of my neighbors former high school students??? Sounds like a bad Farrelly brother movie.......
At any rate we went........we were nervous....... then he shows up.........and it was a bit anti-climatic. I don't know if it was the Michael Jackson sensation that swept the nation that week but as this former Idol that I watched come into stardom walks in wearing his BVD white T and baseball cap like any other tool. I was like what am I fretting for?? He has no moonwalk, no sparkling glove, no mamasay mamasa moomakasa, no sidewalks that light up when he walks on them.....Just a guy from KC who hopped on the lucky train, I am not doubting his talent - he has got it, I am just saying there wasn't the aura and cloud of smoke following him in......
He was nice, but you could tell he was preoccupied, texting and emailing though all conversations as if he was making peace talks with the United Nations - I mean what could be that important.......But after I thought about it I am sure this guy has better things to do than to hang out politely until we finally bug him to take his picture so we can leave with evidence in hand..... He did share some good cat fight idol stories as well as confirmed that Simon's boobs are really as big as they appear on TV......All in all I would do it again, it wasn't as if he was a jerk, just a normal guy with not a bunch of pizazz on a random Thursday night.

Here it is folks.....one Mr. non pizazzed David Cook....

These were members of his band and were much more happy and outgoing to talk about the gravy train they are currently riding on.....
Seriously I want to submit this to US Magazine's section "Stars they are just like us" section and I can see the caption now....... David picks his nose....just like us!
This was Nikki the hour before we met him.....you know when Sheryl called and delayed the whole gig.......Thanks a lot Ms. Crow......

And an Ode to the girl that made it all happen, this is the former student who is "REALLY" friends with him and the rest of the AI Crew.....

RR crossing......

I just wanted to get this down to remember - its Brady's absolutely FAVORITE song and we listen to it EVERY time we are in the car - both kids know it is track number 9 and request it the minute we buckle up.....Brady usually screams it at the top of his lungs over and over again, but became a bit shy when he caught me trying to tape it from the front seat (I wasn't driving!) any who I think I captured enough to remember, like I could possibly forget the song seriously hums through my head all day long if I am in the car or not...... Unfortunately, I think Brady got my rhythm and misfortune to carry a beat.....

But of course the spotlight can't be all Brady - some little one has to get in on the action too.......

Choo choo............

The Frenzy that was the Fourth.......

I am not sure why but they give us a long holiday weekend and we feel like we have to jam pack the entire summer events into those three glorious long days......It is all great fun stuff, but yes exhausting non the less.....
We started our weekend out in Holland visiting some college friends cottage, we got a chance to catch up, hang on the beach, play at the pool, go out to dinner and let the kids run themselves into a long self induced nap before the big fireworks!
Not a shabby set up, water was a bit cold so we headed up to the pool after a few hours....
Brady's just checking it out from a far - he stuck his toes in and I don't blame him I would have been parking in the chair too.....brrrr.....
What?? A boy's gotta eat!
Brooke was out searching for sea shells (which of course we HAD to lug home only to be dumped in the car)
Brooke maxing and relaxing with Dad poolside....
Brady surfing sans water (of course!)
Geronimo!!!
Dad thought it looked fun too, but somehow there didn't seem to be as much "launch" or "thrust" involved......more like plop plop fizz fizz......
Dining at one fancy Pronto Pup - GH you have got some Stiff competition...
The fireworks were great we rode our bikes to see them, didn't really think through the whole logistics of Brooke riding her bike back home at 11pm in the pitch dark, crossing streets....yikes!
Brady loved LOOKING at the fireworks, as long as his ears were completely muffled with my hands, so for the remainder of the night we sat like this......
The next morning we got up for a neighborhood pancake breakfast before the big parade (when I say big I mean extremely small lasting about 20 minutes) and carnival....... of course our adopted son "Buzz" came with....we don't dare leave without him!
Because there was only 24 hours left to be had in this freakishly event filled weekend we immediately bust over to the Pulleys house for BBQ and fireworks.....
There was a lot of cuteness going on, sucking down some root beer floats....
And kids bombing out doing whatever they could!
Happy Fourth of July Turkey Ball...
Then came Blongo Ball......
This is the sweet smile of victory - Chris scowl of defeat.....that's right in double OT Cherie pulled a three pointer out of nowhere to advance to the semi finals..... As you can imagine gloating and pouting were involved from each party!
Pulley vs. Munson in the semi finals - well of course when someone gives them selves a BYE in the second round......and also requests the left hand side.......I may be a poor loser but I am just saying there were a lot of special "breaks" for one Stacy P.
Ending in a father daughter finale?? Who could have guessed?? Who knew she had it in her??
Only to find out she ends up taking her dear ol' dad down when he steals the mini grill right out from her hands.....a competitor, yes.....but who knew the straight up lengths she will go.....
Then the kids bombed out with a lot of smoke and sulfur for the rest of the night!!
K.P. put on quite the display for all to watch....

Brady assumed the position - look familiar?? ha!

So after two nights of the kids staying up until 11pm or later, I am glad to be back to a half way reasonable schedule and slowing down for a minute.....haha right.........Brady's birthday, parents visiting, vacation next week, art festivals, beach time, work, t-ball........yeah things should slow down REAL soon :) Hope everyone had a great holiday!
