Coast Guard Festival

We were able to head to Grand Haven to the Coast Guard Festival.
The kids braved the crowded craft show but got their fair share with a trip to Imagination Station.

Went down to tour the coast guard boats.

 Captain Brady.
Rose and Jack out at sea.....Near......Far.......

Ice cream cone #1 of 493 while Grandma is in town.

Soaking it in, when we can....

This summer has been an odd one weather wise, a lot of cool temps, a lot of rain, and a lot of unpredictable planning for outdoor events. So when the sun was shinning we tried to take advantage as much as possible.

Playing hooky from work to go paddle board with some friends in Holland.

It always looks easier than it is, but we all gave it a whirl.
Trying to make sunscreen tattoos.
Roxy still not a swimmer per say, but she likes to cool off. Just don't ask her to move her hind legs in conjunction with her front ones, somehow she takes "Doggie paddle" to a whole new level.
Brady enjoying the hot sand.
Joy riding in a Lamborghini, because that is normal for a 10 and 8 year old..... (not ours!)
She kina pooh pooh's retrieving a ball, but throw a stick and its a whole new ball game.
This water baby is all smiles all the time at the beach.

Not sure why.....
We took a trip to St. Joe to check out the beach in a new town and they had a Dog beach so Roxy could chase segul shadows until her heart is content.....
Kids climbing the sand dunes.....
They also had one of the largest blow up waterslides I have ever seen.....These guys were all in!

Rock/Sand art.....

The guy let Brooke put the finishing "touch" (she got to write the sign) on his sand sculpture.

Here are some videos of said huge water slide....

Sometimes I am not sure who is more dog like Brady or Roxy?

Hanging pool side.

Hoping there is more sunshine to be had......

Baseball for Brady

Brady has been wanting to give baseball a try and as much as I am a firm believer in taking the summer off, I was also worried that the league play in the spring was a bit too hard core for my liking So when a parent told me about a low commitment league with the Y and games during the week we decided to give it a whirl and we are glad we did. He really liked it and it was really fun to watch him. He still seems so young out there, but its fun to watch him catching on.
There are not many things cuter than this:

Brady seemed to get what to do....he didn't have much trust in his teammates yet, so more often than not when he would get the ball he would run down the player to get him out instead of throwing to the base.....it worked but we need to work on his team approach.

Case in point got the ball.....and running him down instead of throwing to home plate.
Almost there....

And your outta here!
This was a whole new level for spectators than T-Ball, recall my distaste for the slow movement of T-Ball.....anyway pleasantly surprised this one has a bit of hand eye coordination and made contact more often than not!

So true to form, he found something he likes so he goes 100% in, he will want to play catch for hours on end with anyone that is willing, he sorts cards and organized them by team, color, and position. He randomly goes to signings now (as much as we didn't influence him to try baseball the signings I am sure was due to someones influence....I will let you guess)
So I think obsession a la summer of 2014 = Baseball.

Sweet Lou, Dad and Son.

Can you say field of dreams.....
