One last Hoorah!

We recently got to head up to Lake Geneva one last time before Grandma and Grandpa packed their bags and headed west! We enjoyed a kid free weekend while we went to our college friend's "Hockey n Hold em'" party and the kids got to "soak" up the last of Lake G with Gma and Gpa! Thanks mom and dad for watching the kids they had a blast as always and hopefully you are recouperating from two nights with a six month olds sleeping habits! Here are some photos of the kids swimming!! Brady's sporting a sweet nemo speedo for his swimming debut!HA!

Paging Dr. McToddler......

I knew it would happen but I didn't think it would happen this soon....You know that moment where you go is my kid smarter than me???......In my head I envisioned it happening when they are in high school - when teenagers "think" they know everything (I sure did :) ) So Brooke and I are talking and she starts "Mom do you know these are your lungs (as she taps on her chest) "Wow Brooke, that's great, did you learn that at school today?" "Yeah we are doing hiccups this week" " Mom did you also know that there is a lil' muscle under your lungs called a "phrem" (diaphram) and if a lot of air gets in there it snaps and then you hiccup" So I am thinking why at 34 years of age I didn't know how a hiccup really happened until my 3 year old explained it? Secretly a lil embarrassed I had to confirm it with the Mayo clinic online and sure enough the story is accurate (haha!)......I am sure this is only the first of many dumb mom moments......I already told Chris he is in charge of all english and geography homework questions....I will handle math and science - So it just proves as much as you try and teach your kids - they will also be teaching you!!

Independence day!

Let's all do a victory dance - for our lil Brady is 6 months old today! And no thats not a scoop neckline my son has on :) Brady and mom have both reached some important milestones that will give both of us some welcomed independence. I have hung up my nursing hat for good and sold my pump on craigs list without haste! Brady on the other hand isn't so hasty.... He still doesn't roll over the lil' wad of chunk just can't seem to make it all the way over! (its funny how different Brooke and Brady may be - Brooke was already sitting up by now.) Someday he will be strong enough to whip that heavy melon over. However, he has found his voice and gives shout outs and sings often, he loves to hold and play with toys. He started eating cereal and didn't flinch - actually gets mad when it ends (just like mom and dad when we see the last piece of pizza get eaten!) He continues to develop into a darker version of Brooke everyday - sorta creepy. He started daycare two days a week and is managing just fine. Brooke has stepped up to the plate and gone into "protective" "know it all" mode at daycare - instructing everyone including the providers on how to handle her lil' Bro.... We actually got a forecast of what is yet to come for this lil' boy as Brooke tells us at dinner.... "Mom when Brady is older he is going to take toys away from me and not share" "Then I can tell him that he isn't being nice and tell him to go to his room" - What 3 year old is already envisioning fights she is to have with her brother? Ridiculous! Anyway I can't believe this lil nugger has been with us 6 months already but indeed the saying holds true "Boy does time fly!"

12:01 am ......And goodnight!

It's hard to believe that the millennium was SEVEN years ago??? Where in the world has the time gone? Oh yeah now I remember the time seems to be consumed by these two lil humans that have entered our lives and fill our minutes with chores, responsibilities, joy & laughter! So do I have a hot night to report about the "crazy" way we brought in the new year? Hmmm..... Not so much - instead we spent it at home with some close friends and our kids reminiscing about our glory single days! Oh how we have all concluded that we miss those days but have come to terms that those days are gone and all agree that we wouldn't trade it for the world! (well except for a few days here and there where grandparents can come save us from lock down so we can kick up our heels a few times a year!) With that in mind - is it just the Munsons or is one late night (whether it be out on the town or at home with friends) require at least 3 days recovery now? Hence why it only happens a few times a year! :) Oh how times have changed. Well I hope everyone had a SAFE and HAPPY holiday and the best of luck to everyone in the new year! HAPPY 2007!
