Mother's Day.

Brady treated me to a spa coupon book.

Which I didn't waste any time turning in .....
He told me I could use the coupon unlimited since he enjoyed doing it.

Brady also had a soccer game on Mother's day, and all the boys came running from their team huddle to deliver these to all the moms.  Lucky indeed.

Traverse City Tournament

We had another successful soccer tournament in Traverse City this season. The kids look forward to it all year. We spent 11+ hours out on the soccer field in one day, luckily enough we had no games that overlapped so we were able to watch them all and root on our lil' Rapids.

Soccer sometimes seems secondary to staying at a hotel with a waterpark.
These guys love it.
Luckily no early morning games which just meant late nights.

Soccer + waterpark= siblings looking like an old married couple.

Brooke and her pals cooling off.
We  had great weather, cool with cloud cover!
Brady's team getting a pep talk.....Chris was luckily enough to step in as coach as the head coach got ejected with a red card.

These boys played hard. Ended up 3rd place (we didn't mention to them there were only four teams)
So they thought they rocked it!

The girls were successful too.
Ended up in third place out of nine teams and beating some pretty competitive teams. Its fun to watch these girls "get it"

Funny how the girls are so much more cooperative with a team photo than the boys.
While most of our time is spent in a grassy field away from the beauty of TC, we still try and make time to get to the water and downtown, so the kids don't think the only thing cool about up north is a soccer field.

Principal Munson Reporting For Duty.

Brady won the honor of being Principal for the day at his school.
He got to declare an extra recess for his class, have Mr. Shubel bring him Culver's for lunch (his recommendation), read to other classes and eat lunch in the teacher's lounge with some of his buddies. All in all a good day.

I was also able to receive email updates from my principal letting me know what has happening on the ol' school grounds.

Mom and Dad,

I am having a great time today as principal to day.  My class had extra gym and recess.   I am going to read a book to Mrs. Fowler's Kindergarten class later today.  The Thornapple Principal would like hamburgers with ketchup for dinner tonight.
See you tonight,

Taking over the teacher's lounge at lunch.
I caught him practicing the night before. He was really into it!

Mom and Dad,

A couple pictures of me reading to Mrs. Hayhurst's and Mrs Fowler's class where my friends Jack and Maverick are.  Did you get the hamburger for dinner yet?  Extra ketchup please!

Principal Brady

PS Just finishing my custard.  I had to work real hard today.

Brooke and The Arts.

Brooke got to be a part of a large sampling of the arts at Van Andel Arena. She was part of a 1,500 children's chorus, and got to be part of a show that also included, ballet dancers, Broadway singers, Orchestra, Symphony, a marching band, opera singers, and fireworks. This included lots of late night practices that were not highly coveted by said parents, but in the long run it was neat to see her so excited about being part of something so big in this community.

The marketing team in full effect, they were excited to plant posters out and around our neighborhood to let everyone know about the big event.
Brooke and Ruth waiting to load the bus.....

Brooke was also involved in a production of the Wizard of OZ this spring.
This was her first production outside of school functions and she really enjoyed it. She had a small part of the munchkin group, but really enjoyed it and would like to do it again with sights on possibly a larger part.  We hope so because it was sure fun to watch her.

Hair and makeup....
 Booke and Anya.....the two twins.
They hate it.....and are super shy.....
 Brooke taking her curtain call....
The stars taking time out for their fans after the show....

Brooke also had her fifth grade musical.
"We has Jazz"
She is on the end in the yellow.

Brooke said it wasn't her favorite, but I loved it. All the music we know, she thought it was "old fashioned"
That was the end of the "performances"
