There is nothing that says Happy Birthday America like 104 degrees and a day full of outdoor activities.....But we (meaning anyone above the age of 10) tried to wear our patriotic cheery faces and think cool thoughts......
We made sure we sported our colors.....(and a lot of sunscreeen!)

We got to take our cousins to all the festivities....
Candy was in abundance....with a 16 year old helping your cause....
Next year kids will try and join the bike portion of the parade!

Experiencing the first year that fireworks were sold in Michigan.....
Then attending the real ones.....and realizing how insignificant ours were.
